9 Months Old & 2 Months Till VEGAS

Today marks 9 months for Reagan! Wow, how the time has flown by. Can't believe I need to start thinking about her 1st Birthday soon!!! Poor little thing has been sick lately. It started out as a cold early last week and progressed into vomiting and diarrhea. She was only throwing up once per day, and 2 blow-outs a day. I took her to the Dr. on Thursday cause they said they wanted to see her. I left work early, Reagan needed her mommy, and knowing how sick she was, I couldn't get to her fast enough. Turned out it is a virus, so the ped told me to keep pushing fluids, that's all I could do. Well, she drank a lot of pedialyte on Thursday and slept a lot. She seemed to be on the mend by Thursday night, but then not good on Friday. Anyways, as of last night, I think she's a lot better. Ryan and I took her on a walk yesterday in her stroller. She was so cute; she just leaned back and chilled with her shades on the whole time. Think the fresh air was good for her, I know it was for me. Was home all weekend!!! We did go eat dinner at Joe & Lindsey's on Saturday night, but Reagan wasn't really feeling it, so we didn't stay long. My parents and Whitney also stopped by Friday night for a quick visit. Yesterday, Reagan really walked!! She walked from Ryan to me, and back again and again. I'm so proud of her!
Other big news....booked our Vegas tickets last week. VEGAS, HERE WE COME!!! Can't wait, we are so excited to go and I'm so glad we have our tickets! We fly out on Sat May 1st and are staying at the Flamingo until Tuesday May 4th. There are a bunch of us going so it will be so much fun. It will be me, Ryan, Michelle Nerison, Joe & Lindsey, Krista & Luke Swanson, Mike & Pam Murphy, Joe & Sara Murphy, Megan, Devon, and maybe Justan Duden. We're going for Ryan's 30th Birthday which is on April 29th. I asked him a couple years ago if he wanted to celebrate his golden birthday or his 30th!! So, Vegas it is, and we couldn't be more excited!

Sleep Training Reagan and Last Pound of Baby Weight for Mommy

Our little girl is almost 9 months old and we've decided to start sleep training her. We've kind of created a monster, you know, the type that doesn't "self soothe" and go to sleep on her own. Most nights we put her to sleep or she falls asleep during her bottle. Even though that is the quickest method, I want Reagan to learn that she can do it on her own. So our first night of "sleep training" was Tuesday. I laid Reagan down and the method we're trying says to sit next to the crib the first few nights. You can talk to them and pat them but you can't take them out of the crib. Well, Reagan needs to be restrained. She constantly got up after each time I laid her back down. She fought it for about 1/2 hour, in the end, I won!! She feel asleep and I hadn't taken her out once. It was a great feeling.

(SIDE NOTE) OMG. Reagan just took her first step, well 2 of them actually, while I was sitting here typing this. She walked to the chair I'm sitting on. I can't believe it!!

So back to the sleep training. The 2nd night Reagan slept in bed with us all night and the same for the 3rd night. Needless to say, sleep training will have to begin all over again. The next time I'll have to make sure I'm entirely ready! Reagan does not sleep with us every night either. Just every once in awhile. What can I say, who doesn't love sleeping in a King bed.

Some other things Reagan has been up to: Waving bye-bye, crawling every way and getting into everything, she walks along furniture, and she even played a little catch with Ryan and I. Everyday it's something new! Oh, and she plays peek-a-boo! The other day I was loading the dishwasher so I put her in her walker since otherwise she tries to climb on the door. Well, she couldn't quite reach the dishes facing forward in the walker, so the next thing I know, she cruises by the dishwasher, backs it up in reverse, and reaches behind her. She can reach everything!! So smart!

I have about 1 more pound to lose, and then I've lost all 35 pounds of baby weight. I gave myself 9 months to lose it since that's how long it took me to gain it. I've been struggling with the last 13 pounds for about 5 months! And I'm hoping that by March 8th, I'll see the before pregnancy number on the scale once again. I started Weight Watchers online again about 4 weeks ago, which has helped me lose 5 pounds. I've also been making a few trips a week to the High School field house to do some walking and jogging. Thanks to Becky S. and my sister Laura who have kept me company!! So I'm upping my game, It 's time for Jillian Michael's 30 day Shred. Day 1 was yesterday and I was able to complete about 90% of all the push-ups and 95% of the cardio. Today, I'm feeling a little soar in the upper body but other than that, I feel great. Never mind the fact that I've been a bottom-less pit today, eating way more then necessary, so my workout yesterday is a mute point. Here's to a better Monday!

And it's Snowing again...

With the end of winter in sight, I hope, I'm so excited for Spring!! Reagan is almost 8 months old already and she is doing something new almost every day. She's been crawling now for about 3 weeks, just goes even faster every day. She pulls herself up on everything and as just started walking along the furniture. She has 2 or 4 teeth coming in on the bottom, I can't tell for sure how many. She is so darn cute abd trying to help me type this. She went with me to Ryan's alumni basketball games with me last Saturday. I sure love having a little best friend to go with me everywhere. Ryan's team lost their first game, won their second, and lost their third. So for the first time in awhile they didn't play Sunday. He's pretty soar today!! Ryan's been a stay-at-home dad the last few weeks, and he's been enjoying it. I told him, it's going to be so hard to go back to work. Especially because she is so much more fun everyday. She's a mix though still of a mama's girl and daddy's girl. Da-Da was her first word though. It's easier.

Vikings Win Again!!

We just watched the Vikes win another game, it's been a great season. We've been splitting up where we watch the games by taking turns each week between our house, Prink's house, and the Nerison's house. Everyone was over here today except Michelle, Sophia, and baby Finnegan. We missed them! So happy Finnegan is finally here. He looks just like his sister and daddy! I've only seen him once and he slept the whole time so hopefully when I visit this week, we'll be awake. Pam and I did a photo shot w/ Reagan last weekend for some Christmas pictures. See below, they're were a lot of cute ones w/ Willy but couldn't post them all. Yesterday Rea and I went out to lunch w/ my mom and sisters. Whitney finally got home the other day from school in Winona. They got 15 inches of snow there so she was stuck a couple extra days and now she's home until the 11th of January. After lunch we all went to mom's and baked a bunch of cookies, it was a nice Saturday! I was a little tired though from the night before. Some of us from wor

k went out to this dive bar in Eagan and yes, I sang a little karaoke. Everyone said I was pretty good, Ryan laughed when I told him that and he said they must have all been drunk. Thanks dear! Not much else going on other than that! Just hoping to finally get some Christmas presents bought this week. It's empty under our tree!

5 Months Old

Reagan is now over 5 months old! She is growing perfectly. She's sitting up by herself for a little bit at a time and rolling over constantly. She loves to walk on the kitchen floor in her walker. She always manages to come up behind me and smoke me in the heels! She celebrated her first Halloween dressed as a duck, although now I'm thinking it was more like a chick. We had a Halloween Party so there's some pics of us in costume. Ryan and I booked our Vegas trip today! I'm taking him for his 30th birthday in April, it's going to be so much fun. Other than that, we're just laying low waiting in anticipation for the holidays, baby Nerison, and Joe and Sara's wedding. It's going to be 2010 before we know it!

4 Months Old

Little Reagan is 4 months old as of yesterday!! I had the day off today to take my lil girl to the dr. office. She was all smiles and having a blast until the dreaded needles got slammed in her little thighs. She cried so hard she was gasping for breath, I was able to calm her down pretty quickly. She now weighs 13 lbs 3 1/2 ozs and is 24 1/2" long. Just were she is supposed to be. Her heads a little big, go figure though, Ryan is her dad.

Tonight it's going to be just Reagan and daddy as I am heading to Eagan w/ my sisters to have a few drinks and dinner. Looking forward to a little girl time.

Milestone!

Well lil Miss Reagan finally rolled over from her back to her belly. She's been so close for the last week and she finally did it on Wednesday, for her dad only. I still have yet to see it, I did see her belly to back rollover at 6 weeks, but this is much bigger. I'm glad though that it was one of us who saw it. We're still working on it. Last night Pam and Laura were over and we were sitting around Reagan on the floor, she got over, but we screamed with excitement and she popped back over to her back...so close:-)

Today we're venturing out for some garage sales. It's the city wide, last year at this time I was pregnant, didn't know though yet. And tomorrow we have another big Vikings game and Sophia's 2nd birthday party. I can't believe she's already 2!!!!

Reagan's been so intrigued by Willy these days. She just sits and watches him wherever he goes. I've attached some pictures of their tender moments.

Changing Everyday!!

Reagan is already almost 4 months old and she is so much fun. She's a very active little girl and loves how she can kick her legs and stand on them now. She was baptized last weekend and she was so good in church, no crying at all! I went back to work on Aug. 31st so she's been going to daycare, if you can even call it that. She goes to Grandma Pam's everyday and gets plenty of attention. She takes evening naps because I think she gets really worn out from watching the other 2 girls that are there part-time. My mom did get her a couple days last week since she was off from work. They had so much fun together!

2 Months Old

Reagan is already 2 months old and she has changed so much in the last couple of weeks. Well everyday she's changing. She's been sleeping through the night now, in her crib, since July 30th. I usually get about 9 1/2 hours. We are definitely in a routine, bedtime around 9:30pm and she sleeps till 6 or 6:30am. It has been really nice for me, but some mornings I feel like I'm just waiting for her to wake up, because she usually goes back to sleep again for a couple of hours after having a bottle. I use this time to start laundry, straighten up, maybe work out. For as much as I feel like I'm doing stuff, I sure feel like I have a lot of down time too. I love just holding her still when she first falls asleep, she's not going to be this little forever so I enjoy it now. Plus, I'm back to work in 3 weeks :-( Grandma Pam is excited about that though, since she then gets the baby all day! We are so lucky to have someone we know doing daycare, but of course I'd rather it be me home with her all day. Reagan is also on the verge of holding her own bottle, she always has her hands on it when I'm feeding her. She can be very independent. One day she cries when I pick her up and the next day she cries when I put her down. She is usually most happy though laying on her back and having you talk to her. She talks and coos a lot and smiles a ton!! We are getting ready for her first little vacation, a trip up North this weekend with the Murphy family. We're staying in a cabin on the lake somewhere 4 hours away. They'll be a boat and a pontoon so it will be lots of fun. I hope Reagan enjoys it too.

6 weeks old!

6 weeks have already passed, and that means only 6 more weeks before I return to work. I do miss the adult interaction a little, but Reagan is changing so quickly and I'd hate to miss anything. She is getting so strong at holding up her head, and you can tell that she actually sees you now when she looks at you. I'd like to say she's a bit of a mamma's girl, which is to be expected since I'm home with her all the time. Although, Ryan has been home a lot too. It's been too windy lately for him to get out and there and spray. Hopefully, that will change. It has been nice having him home though. Reagan is sleeping a chunk of about 5-6 hours every night, so that's been great.

Reagan had an overnight stay with Grandma Pam and Granpa Mike on the 11th. Ryan hosted a party at our house for the UFC 100. We had about 30 people here, a house full. Everyone left pretty much right after so we were able to call it a night somewhat early, and I didn't feel like a pile the next day. I had a hard time without my little one, so that was the last overnight for awhile.

Ryan and I asked my sister, Whitney, to be Reagan's godmother the other day and she happily accepted. We are so happy she did, although we knew she wouldn't say no.

Got to go, again, baby's calling.

1 Month Old Today

Reagan is now 1 month old already, I can't believe how fast time still flies. We've been having so much fun home together the last few weeks. Granted, we've had our share of sleepless nights and crabby days, but all in all, it's still been great. She definitely is changing. She now looks towards our voices a lot more and you can tell she is focusing on things a lot better. Her little legs aren't small any more, she's finally starting to fill out. And she's so strong. We've been working on tummy time every day, for the last few, to help her learn how to lift her head. We've also been venturing out for more walks in the stroller, which she just loves. Willy goes with us and he's very good at leading.

Reagan saw her first 4th of July parade at Great Grandma Rapp's. It sure was not a very good parade, but anyways, it was the first 4th in awhile were Ryan and I weren't hungover, it was great. We did party that night though at Ryan's parents, my parents watched the baby overnight. They did a great job and boy did we miss her!

Well have to get going, baby calls.

Reagan Maeva Murphy

Finally, I know, I should have posted this weeks ago, but I've been busy. Well, she's here!!! Our little princess, Reagan! She came a day early on June 8th at 11:53am. After about 20 hours of labor and no epidural, we welcomed her into this crazy world. 7 lbs 9 ozs, 21 1/2" long, 10 fingers and 10 curly Chrissy toes, she's beautiful. We checked into the hospital at 5pm on Sunday June 7th after over an hour of contractions 5 minutes apart. I was 75% effaced and dilated 5 centimeters. They said, "you're staying", and we were thrilled that the time had finally come! I progressed very slowly over the next several hours and my Dr. visited me Monday morning and broke my water at about 8am. Things really started to move then. I think I pushed for about an hour, it felt like 10 minutes. The feeling I had when she came out, was so worth all the pain. They placed her on my chest, skin to skin, as soon as she was delivered and she was so wide-eyed checking me out. Nothing could have prepared me for this experience.

We had many visitors in the hospital and left on Wednesday June 10th. It was great to get home and start the family adventure of the three of us.
Three weeks old and we're pretty much in the swing of things around the Murphy house. Ryan and I have ventured out twice without her, only for a couple hours at a time. This weekend we'll have our first night apart as she spends the evening with my parents on the fourth. Mommy and daddy are going to do a little drinking!! Not too much though, cause we have to be able to care for her the next day. Anyways, there's a lot more I could go on about, but don't have time. The little one is waking up and it's time to feed. Well it's almost time for this baby to be ready to enter the world. Ryan and I have just been trying to keep busy while we wait, but I'm sure like some of you know, it sucks!!! I saw the dr. on June 1st and I was dilated to 4 centimeters and still 50% effaced. I thought she would have come by now, but nope, she's taking her time. Which I guess is fine, nothing I can do about that. I have tried all the little tips on how to go into labor quickly; walking, sex, pineapple, raspberry tea, foot rubs, bumpy car rides, obivously, nothing has worked! Ok, enough venting. I have been having contractions on and off all day, so maybe this weekend...cross your fingers!

Ryan and I celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary on Wednesday! I can't believe how quickly the last 3 years have gone, it seems like just yesterday. And on an even more sappy note, things have definitely gotten even better with each passing day. I'm in love with Ryan even more then the day we got married, and I'm sure he'd say the same:-)

37 weeks and counting...

Well I'm almost to the finish line, it's so close now. I saw my dr. on Wednesday and I am now dilated 2 centimeters and 50% effaced. Any day now...Well, hopefully she stays in the oven for another 2 weeks or so. Since I was also the last patient on Wednesday, I got a chance to see her again on the crappy clinic ultrasound machine, so no pictures. But her head was still in position and I figured out what some of the other bumps were. They also got a face shot of her, but it really freaked me out, so I looked away. I don't know why, but it did.

So with everything progressing well, I've started to pack my bag and the baby's is ready. I am getting scared now, but am soooo excited that we will finally meet her! I can't wait to see who she looks like and to start to learn all about this little person who's been growing inside of me. Ryan is getting anxious as well. Almost everyday now he asks, "is the baby coming today?" He just wants to hold her and see her, it' s so cute and nice to know that my husband will make an amazing father. Ahhh, sappy, I know. Anyways, I've also decided against an epidural. I really want to feel something, so I've opted for a shot in my IV to "take the edge off". Now, I know things can change, but this is my birthing plan right now!

With those super hot days this week, 90 degrees!!, my feet decided to puff up! They look so bad and they hurt! Definitely one of the worst parts of my pregnancy so far. I know I've had it good!

I had my Uline work baby shower on the 14th of May so I've posted some pictures below of those who came. It was a great turnout, about 20 people including myself. I was so happy that so many came, and it was really nice just to be out again. We all gathered for dinner at Green Mill in Eagan, so there was great food as well. My sister Pam, who works with me, and my friend Michelle Anderson, threw the party for me. Thanks again girls and to all those who came! Thanks as well to those who couldn't make it but pitched in some wonderful gifts for my little girl. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Ryan's Golden Birthday & Whitney's Prom

Ryan was the big birthday boy this last week. He turned 29 on Wednesday April 29th. His golden birthday. Next year is the big 3-0!!! So, we're heading to Las Vegas. Any friends and fam that want to join us are welcome. We're going in the end of April, so start saving now. On his birthday we went out for dinner with his parents to the Ranchero Supper Club in Webster, MN. It was a good time and great food. Ryan had a liter and a half of beer out of a huge mug. I was a little jealous. My parents came over on Thursday night to drop off a birthday card for Ryan and we all enjoyed some Cold Stone Creamery cupcakes. They were tasty! On Friday night, we and some friends all got together for dinner. Ryan's sister Megan, brother Joe, Joe Prink & Lindsey, Michelle & Eric, all joined us at Osaka Japanese Steakhouse in Apple Valley. Joe's Sara joined us a bit later on. They have super good food that they cook in front of you on a hibachi grill. So you get a dinner & a show. The cook also shoots Saki (sp?) in your mouth, if you like. Eric got drunk from it, I think, and Ryan got shot in the eye with it. Joe Murphy also gave it a go. The picture with the weird looking head mask has Ryan under it. They make you wear it as the whole place sings a rendition of Happy Birthday. At first, it didn't fit on his big head, but with a few wiggles it fell into place. After dinner we stopped by good all Shenanigans for some beers. Michelle and I of course, drinking Odouls. Only a few more weeks.Today is Whitney's senior prom. We just stopped by my parents house for the picture taking session before they head off to Grand March. She's going with her boyfriend, Cody. They looked so good together, as you can see from the picture. Their party is at McArthers Golf Club in Meisville.

I think Spring is Here!

You know what that means??? Only a couple more months till baby, about 7 1/2 weeks to be exact! To say Ryan and I are anxious would be an understatement. At the rate time has been flying she'll be here before we know it. The nursery is coming along and besides the dresser and some final decoration details, we are all set. I had my first of two showers this last weekend, April 11th, with family from both sides and friends. There was an amazing turnout, about 39 people including my sisters! It was great that everyone could come, and so nice to see everyone. My sisters threw the shower for me at my parents house, they did a fantastic job. Thanks girls!! As you can see from the pictures, the amount of gifts I received was overwhelming. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Besides all the adorable clothes, we received blankets made with love, a pack'n'play, walker, floor play mat, bouncer chair, nighttime crib soother, car seat, stroller, and lots, lots, more. My sister Pam also had this really good idea: she bought a bunch of the Little Golden Books and had everyone take one and write a note to the baby on the inside. So she's got a nice personalized collection to look back on for years and years. Such a great idea Aunt Pam! I added another picture of the nursery with the rest of the painting complete. I'd like to thank my mom and mother-in-law for helping finish. They'd been hassling me for awhile, so I said, "fine, go ahead and finish". I have to admit, it was a relief to just have it done. My dad helped a little too! Ryan is starting to work on the dresser, it needs to be painted and then I can start filling it up with clothes.

My brother-in-law got engaged last weekend to Sara!! We are so excited for them!

Third Trimester!!

I must admit, I completely forgot about this blog. Sorry to those of you who check it, if it weren't for Aunt Megan, there probably would have never been another post. Anyways, I had another fun dr. appt. today. I measure perfectly at 29 weeks and the babies heartrate is perfect. I had the tasty glucose test today and thankfully my blood sugar level and hemoglobin are perfect!! We are getting very anxious around the Murphy household!! As you can see the crib is up and ready and Ryan got his daddy diaper bag! Just some last minute painting we hope to finish this weekend. I got my stroller and carseat last weekend. A gift from my parents and Aunt Pam. I am so excited to put our little baby in the stroller and take her for walks this summer. Michelle and Sophia will join us on plenty since Michelle is off a few days each week. It will be nice to have some adult company while I work off the baby weight (hopefully) and get a nice tan. That weight sure does creep up on a woman, or maybe it's all the ice cream, cake, and cookies I eat. Oh well, what baby wants, baby gets! Check out that bump! Ryan didn't think you could see it well enough with my shirt, so he made me lift it up :-( By the way, that cute little sea horse is a gift for baby Murph from Aunt Pam!

It's Still Winter

Oops, sorry it has been so long since my last post. I have to work on not falling behind for those few of you who check this out. We had our 3rd ultrasound on Monday to make sure the placenta has moved up, and it has. Everything is good to go. Our little girl is getting so big!! I've posted one of the pics for you to see. We think she has my nose. It's hard to tell in the picture, but it was more clear when we were watching her. We saw her scratch her head, hiccup, and her moving her mouth like a fish. It was too cool. I'm certainly looking more pregnant these days. Laura came over last Saturday night for dinner and was like, " ahh, you have a baby bump now!" Yes, I do. I even had my first stranger ask me when I was due, kind of risky, but oh well. She said, "You look beautiful." Really makes a pregnant woman feel good, since I can't seem to keep my "gut" as Ryan calls it, in my p.j. shirt.
Nothing else really going on around the Murphy house. Ryan and I were both home sick a couple of days last week with the nasty 24 hour flu. Thank god for bread and 7 up. I don't know if I've mentioned it, but Ryan got the crib assembled and the bedding is in place. We see it now everytime we walk to our room. Only about 15 more weeks to go!

Almost 6 months!!

Can you believe that I'm already almost 6 months along???Me neither! Time goes by so quickly!Our little baby girl is still so very active. She is constantly kicking around in there. Ryan felt her kick for the first time last Monday. I was laying on the chair and the feeling felt different to me on the inside and I wasn't sure if it was just in my head or if I could really feel her on the outside, so I laid on the couch and Ryan put his hand my stomach. Not even a few seconds later, wham, she kicked and he jumped. It was very exciting for the both of us. My stomach is growing slowly, or so it seems. Though you can definitely tell I'm pregnant, and it's evolving into more of a round ball. Hopefully my appetite isn't crazy the next few months, it's not looking too good right now. In fact, I'm currently baking a cake! Not just for me either, I think I'll bring it to dinner tonight at my parents' house. It's the least I can do since they're sharing salmon with me. After dinner tonight Pam, Laura, Carrie, and I are going to see He's Just Not That Into You, hope it's good! Ryan's been away all day participating in the Sqwabbit Hunt. It's his 2nd year doing it. They hunt in teams of 2 or 3 and see how many rodents they can shoot and kill. Then they all meet back at one place and weigh up the meat. The winner takes home the traveling trophy! There's also a raffle for many good prizes and chili! Of course, there's drinking as well! I'll have to post a picture of Ryan with his mustache and chops. He looks like a pedophile, but you can be the judge.

Last weekend Ryan participated in the CF Alumni Basketball Tournament. The only have 7 people that show up for their grade, 98'. They played 2 games on Saturday, winning both. They went on to play 3 games Sunday, finishing in 3rd place. One of these years they're bound to get first.

21 Weeks!

I had my 5 month check up today. Can't believe it, already 5 months!! I learned about the things they looked at in the ultrasound and everything is great! I was measured and weighed and am exactly where I should be.
My Dr had a hard time getting the heart rate at first because the little girl wouldn't sit still. Eventually she did and it's the same as it has been the last few times, about 145-150.
Besides my minor back pain from all the painting Ryan and I have been doing, I feel great! No more headaches, ever, and my heartburn has really subsided. This is probably the best I've felt the whole pregnancy! Sleeping however is a different story. I've been waking up a lot more throughout the night just because. Rarely is it to go to the bathroom. I'll just lay awake...sometimes for awhile, sometimes just for a bit. I've been feeling her move so much more, that often times I just lay there and enjoy her movement. It is so great! I can't wait for Ryan to be able to feel her!

It's A Girl!!!

Well I was wrong! Mom was right, it's a girl. A very healthy, growing, active girl from what we can tell. We were able to watch her for an hour at the doctors on Friday and she wouldn't stop moving. We were so excited to hear this and are now even more excited to finally meet her. That being said, here she is!! For those of you who don't know, you can click on the picture to see it bigger!

Well I'm so glad I made it through the week. It was my first full week of work since middle of December, with the holidays and all. We've been busy around the house again painting our entry way and stairwell, and I'm prepping the baby's room to paint it next weekend. We're having our ultrasound on Friday Jan. 16th, so we're hoping to know the sex!! Hopefully it's legs are wide open so there is no mistaking it's gender. I'm thinking boy but I'll let you know next weekend. I wanted to post a picture of our baby, Willy. This is him posing nicely for the camera on Christmas day, isn't he adorable.

Today is our nephew Christian's birthday. He's already 6. Unfortunately, he has the flu so his parties had to be canceled. There sure is something nasty going around. It's also my friend Carrie's 25th birthday so a bunch of us ladies are going out for dinner tonight at Olive Garden. I can't wait.

To make my sister Pam happy, I've posted a picture of my bump! You might find it hard to see next to my huge boobs!! (not bragging either). I'm 18 weeks now, as my ticker indicates. The only thing I've really noticed in this trimester is that I'm able to stay up a little later than usual, which Ryan as enjoyed, because he gets to spend more time with me.

We had a busy weekend building our bar. Ryan's been wanting to do it for awhile and we finally stopped talking and took action, with the help of some others of course. We spent all day Saturday working on it and just have a few final things to take care of. Thanks to Ryan's dad Mike, sister Megan (Vikings "V"), our bro-in-law, Tyler; we were able to get most of it done before the big Viking loss on Sunday. Ryan, Joe P, and Ners daddy dollars shaved their hair into mohawks before the game, hoping it would be good luck; it wasn't.

Happy New Year!!

It has been a great year for Ryan and I and we couldn't be more excited to begin 2009. With a baby arriving in June, the anticipation is excruciating.

We had our 4 month Dr visit on Friday Dec. 26th. Ryan was along this time so he was able to hear the heartbeat for the first time. He couldn't believe how fast it was and he thought it was really cool. The baby's heart rate had slowed down from our 9 week ultrasound. It was 171 then and last week it was about 147, 151. Even more exciting, we booked our appointment for the 2nd trimester ultrasound on Jan. 16th!! The same time we will find out the sex of the lil thing! So stay tuned for that.

My bump is growing slowly right now, but I hear that one morning you just wake up and, bam, you're stomach is huge. I hope it doesn't happen overnight. I've been feeling it move and "flutter" here and there. Not too much yet though.

Tonight Ryan and I are heading to a party at Mike & Sara Banks' in Goodhue. It should be a good time even though there will be no alcohol consumption for me, which doesn't bother me in the least. Knowing that I'll be worth something tomorrow is great. But anyways, we'll be going with Joe, Lindsey, Eric, & Michelle (if Sophi is feeling better). So they'll all have a safe trip home afterwards. I owe Michelle a few anyways:-)

Merry Christmas to all! It has been a wonderful holiday season for us Murphy's. We are very fortunate to have our family close by and our health! We are very thankful this holiday season. I have a new cable for our camera so I can finally post a picture of my beautiful tree. Although, the picture doesn't do it justice.

Well we just watched the Vikes lose...disappointing but all we can do is hope the Bears lose tomorrow night. Joe P, Megan, & Tyler all came over and we snacked and some drank beer. I'm grilling up some venison brats that Joe brought over, should be tasty.
My scheduled dr visit for Monday Dec. 15th got canceled since my dr was sick. It ended up working out okay though because Ryan was out of town on Evan Corp so we would've missed the heartbeat again, but we rescheduled for the day after Christmas, Ryan will get to come! I'll be seeing my new dr at the Hastings Allina clinic for the 1st time. I decided to switch to there instead of Eagan because I really want to deliver in a smaller hospital. My dr in Eagan delivers at United only. All should be good though because I got my new dr's name from Kali Erickson who had her baby delivered by her as well. Carol Johnson, my dr, is a family practice dr so I can take the baby there afterwards as well.
I still haven't found my camera's computer hook-up so I've been slacking in the picture department. Sorry.
Can't believe Christmas is just around the corner!!!

Christmas is Coming...

It's crazy to believe that Thanksgiving is already a week behind us. The tree is up and decorated, now all we need to do, all Ryan needs to do, is to hang the lights on the house. We got a nice tree, not as nice as last years, but good. We cut it down ourselves again and Ryan helped me to decorate the very top cause I can't reach it. I'd post a picture but can't find the cord for the camera. It's been a quiet week around the house because Ryan's been gone every night so far, except for tonight. He was busy one night cutting up the deer he shot, Bambi. And then he flew to Chicago to do Evan Corp in Gary, Indiana on Wednesday and didn't get home until I was in bed last night. Willy and I had way too much alone time!
I'm feeling a bit more of a baby bump nowadays, but not too much. I have an awful cold so I've been taking it very easy, very easy! Let's just say I haven't really done anything except work. Other than all that exciting stuff, I'm going to a baby shower for my cousin's women tomorrow and Ryan and I are going to watch Sophia sometime this weekend while her parents go out to celebrate their one year wedding anniversary.

Dr. Visit

I had my exciting dr visit today! Just a check-up to make sure I'm not having any problems. A couple pluses: I haven't gained any weight since last month and my blood pressure is normal. The best part of the visit: I GOT TO HEAR THE HEARTBEAT!! It was very fast, which is normal. I was so not expecting to be able to hear it on this visit! I feel bad though, cause poor Ryan wasn't along, so he missed out! It was truly amazing, and once again, I cried! Now just 2 more months and we can see it again and maybe it will cooperate with us so we can find out what it is. I'm still thinking it's a boy, but who really knows! Can you believe, already almost 3months!!!

It was a great weekend for Mrs. Murphy. It started on Thursday night cause I had off Friday! A bunch of people from work all went out on Thursday night to Timeout in Eagan. I, being pregnant, sober drove for my sis, Pam. It was a good time, but you know how it goes when you're sober and ready to leave and the drunkie you're driving wants to stay for "one more". Well it was a late night for me, didn't get home till 11pm. Then on Friday, I was up early and on my way to see Twilight!!! The movie I've been waiting for for months! And it was everything I was expecting. Edward is HOT. I'm going to see it again this weekend with Laura, Pam, Kari, & my mom. Can't wait. Friday night I went out for dinner with Andrea, Lindsey, and Bobby. We went to Bellanotte in downtown Minneapolis. It was a very fancy restaurant and the food was very good. We're going to go back when I'm not pregnant and make a night of it. On Saturday, I ventured off to the Burnsville mall to pick up some new black pants and I had to make a stop at Target too. I got some cute holiday socks for Laura and I. Sunday, I did pretty much nothing. I hung out at my parents house in the morning because I was up at 6:20AM, not happy about that. I lounged a lot, went for a walk, and cooked a great dinner. Meanwhile, Ryan was hunting all weekend! He shot Bambi tonight:-(

Almost 11 Weeks!

I cannot believe how fast this is all going! I've been very lucky to get through the 1st trimester with no vomitting! Just a little gas and nauseous here and there. I hope that with my second it's this easy. I'm finally over the feeling of being hungover too! I've been a great little wife this week cooking dinner for the last 3 nights straight and a 4th one to be delivered this evening. That's a lot in the Murphy household. I've even invited a guest to enjoy, my sis Laura. I'm making her favorite and then we just might play some scrabble!

It was a weekend spent mostly hanging with the Murphy family. We had dinner at Mike & Pam's on Friday night after Ryan got home from his tree convention. Megan & Tyler were home, so we got to spend some time with them too. On Saturday, we had dinner at Joe & Sara's. Sara has been busy painting the house, and it looks so much better. Christian was around for awhile so Pam made sure to get a Murphy Family Photo for Christmas. The girl next to Megan is Joe's girlfriend, Sara and her son, Mason. Just in case anyone was wondering. And yes, that is Christian, so grown up, on my lap. Crazy how fast time goes.

Baby Update:

I am now over 10 weeks along and everything seems to be going great. I'm not nauseous anymore, but I have been getting headaches more frequently. Other than that, I'm still pretty tired all the time and going to bed by 8:30pm on work nights. Just a couple more weeks and I should get back some more energy, so I hear.

Well we had a great dr visit yesterday. We were able to see the little bundle of joy! It was amazing!!! It looks like a bean and it was hanging out on it's head. The dr. said that she's never see a baby stay on it's head the whole time like ours. It's certainly a Murphy, showing off already! The heartbeat was at 171 and everything looked great. My due date is June 12th! I was at 9 weeks exactly yesterday! I'll try to get a picture of the ultrasound on the blog page for everyone to see!! So excited!!!!

Long Week...9 weeks!

It has been a long week, thank heavens it's Friday tomorrow! Nothing too exciting has been happening at the Murphy house. I finally had the energy to take down Halloween decorations and workout yesterday. Other than that, I've been very lazy and so tired. I finally had to kick Willy out of the bed last night because I've become such a light sleeper! I wake up every hour!! Since he wasn't in bed last night, I was able to sleep straight through from 8:30p till 1:30am. It was great, and so needed. Just thought I'd share a pic of my Willy!

Tomorrow is our 1st ultrasound so we can hear the heartbeat. I'm a little sketchy that we will actually be able to hear it, I think it might still be too soon. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I just want to hear it and see it so I feel better about sharing the news with everyone! Also, all of my test results from the 1st dr visit came back completely normal! Great News!

Back to work! Only a few more hours to go and then home to enjoy a homemade tuna hotdish, courtesy of Pam Murphy! Thanks!

Halloween Party

Well we survived the Halloween Party. It was lots of fun, more fun for some than others. There were some great costumes, a couple hundred jello shots, some competitive rounds of Tippy cup, and a nice fire (that Eric B would later puke on). A few people were actually sick that evening, and those that weren't felt pretty crappy on Sunday. I myself felt a little hungover (I didn't have anything to drink but a Dr. Pepper and water). It was from the lack of sleep and all the work the day before. I had to sleep in the spare bedroom upstairs because Ryan was Snorphy. I could even hear him upstairs. So worth it though, the party that is, and I'm definitely having another one next year. Eric Burvee won 1st place in the costume contest, and Ryan won 2nd place for sexiest costume.

Well we had the doctor appointment today and nothing fun about it. Apparently it's still a little too early to hear a heartbeat, so I just had the exam and blood drawn. Ryan had lots of fun. Oh well, the important thing is, next Friday we have our 1st ultrasound!!! Can't wait. Anyways, off the baby subject for a bit. Laura and I have been very busy in preparation for our Halloween party this Saturday. We should have a pretty good turnout. We're going to be very busy tomorrow making many, many, many jello shots. I'll put pictures of everyone in their costumes up later!

Today's the Big Day!

Well today is our first doctors visit. We are so excited to finally get medical confirmation of our miracle. We should be able to hear the baby's heartbeat, no ultrasound yet, but the heartbeat is a good start. Just to catch everyone up, Ryan and I are expecting our first baby!! We learned of this pregnancy on Oct. 1st. I'm not for sure, but I believe that I am just over 8 weeks along. I will confirm that after the appointment this afternoon.
